چکیده

Abstract Background Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is common in chronic heart failure (HF) and associated with negative prognosis. However, evidence on prognostic implications of TR acute HF (AHF) lacking. Objectives We sought to investigate the association between mortality interaction pulmonary hypertension (PH) patients admitted for AHF. Methods enrolled 1176 consecutive a primary diagnosis AHF available non-invasive estimation arterial systolic pressure (PASP). Results Moderate-severe was present 352 (29.9%) older age more comorbidities. The prevalence PH (i.e., PASP>40mmHg), right ventricular dysfunction (RVD) mitral (MR) higher moderate-severe TR. At 1 year, 184 (15.6%) died. 1-year risk after adjustment other echocardiographic parameters (PASP, left ventricle ejection fraction – LVEF, RVD MR; HR=1.623, p=0.004) outcome maintained when clinical variables were added multivariable model (HR=1.515, p=0.035). consistent vs without PH, RVD, LVEF<50%. Patients coexistent had 3-fold compared no or (HR=2.920, p<0.001). Conclusions In hospitalized AHF, severity survival, regardless presence PH. combination conferred further incremental risk.

Severe heart failure in child with ventricular septal defect and acute tricuspid regurgitation.

A case is reported in which acute tricuspid regurgitation developed in a child with a ventricular septal defect resulting in a left ventricular-right atrial shunt. This was successfully treated by closure of the defect and tricuspid valve replacement. The anterior leaflet of the tricuspid valve was almost completely destroyed by endocarditis, though in previous reports of tricuspid valve endoca...

Percutaneous Treatment of Mitral and Tricuspid Regurgitation in Heart Failure

Heart failure has become a real epidemic condition related to poor outcomes despite advances in medical therapies. Prevalence of significant mitral and/or tricuspid regurgitation is high in patients with advanced heart failure. Novel transcatheter techniques have recently emerged as a minimally invasive alternative in patients deemed high-risk for surgery or inoperable. Among them, MitraClip® s...

Tricuspid Regurgitation and Mortality Risk Across Left Ventricular Systolic Function in Acute Heart Failure.

BACKGROUND Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is a common echocardiographic finding that has been related to adverse outcome under various clinical scenarios. Nevertheless, evidence supporting its prognostic value in heart failure (HF) is scarce, and, in most cases, contradictory. We evaluated the association of TR grade with 1-year all-cause mortality in acute HF (AHF). METHODS AND RESULTS: We inclu...

Determinants of Surgical Outcome in Patients With Isolated Tricuspid Regurgitation

Background—We sought to identify preoperative predictors of clinical outcomes after surgery in patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation. Methods and Results—We prospectively enrolled 61 consecutive patients (54 women, aged 57 9 years) with isolated severe tricuspid regurgitation undergoing corrective surgery. Twenty-one patients (34%) were in New York Heart Association functional class II, ...

Tricuspid valve regurgitation in patients with heart failure: does it matter?

Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) aetiologies are currently divided into primary and secondary TR. Intrinsic abnormalities of the tricuspid valve leading to significant TR (primary) are rare and are seen in 8–10% of patients with severe TR. In contrast, secondary TR is the most frequent form of TR requiring surgical intervention. Secondary TR occurs mainly from tricuspid annular dilatation and incre...
